Laia decides to run from the Masks and find the Resistance. ![]() Darin comes home and shortly after the Masks raid their home killing Laia and Darin’s grandparents, and arresting Darin. In the beginning, Laia, a Scholar, is waiting for her older brother, Darin, to come home. ![]() Scholars are the slaves, while the Masks are looked at as the most important people. Martial Empire is made up of Scholars and Masks. In this story, our main characters, Laia and Elias live within the Martial Empire.
